FAQs

Q: Do you have minimum hire periods?
A: Hire periods during high season are for 7 or 14 nights (for longer periods ask us for prices) but in medium and low seasons we do 3 and 4 night breaks. We always try to accommodate your needs where possible.
Q: Do you hire all year round?
A: Yes we do - all the motorhomes have dual fuel gas / electric heating with ducted blown air. So no matter what the weather is like outside you will be very comfortable and warm.
Q: Who can drive a motorhome?
A: Anyone between the ages of 25-75 who has held the required license for at least 3 years. Important: please note that to drive the Voyager 4 berth automatic or the Sundance 630L 6 berth you must have a C1 category license. If in doubt, please contact us.
Q: Can we take a motorhome abroad?
A: Yes we do allow our motorhomes to be taken abroad. Hirers travelling abroad will require a minimum of Continental comprehensive insurance and green card cover which will be supplied by Chester Motorhome Hire at an additional cost to the hirer. See our price list for the cost.
Q: Are your motorhomes fully insured?
A: All our motorhomes are covered by comprehensive motoring insurance. However it does not cover your personal items and we recommend that personal insurance be considered to fully protect yourself.
Q: Is smoking allowed in your motorhomes?
A: Smoking is not permitted. If you decide to ignore this policy, charges will be incurred, with the possibility of loss of deposit.
Q: Are your motorhomes fitted with seat belts?
A: All our vehicles are fitted with seat belts - 2 in the 2 berth, 4 in the 4 berth and 6 in the 6 berth.
Q: Is there a television/ DVD in your motorhomes?
A: All our motorhomes are fitted with a fully automatic satellite system (FreeView) and DVD player.
Q: Do you allow animals in your vehicles?
A: We have vehicles for pet owners who wish to take their pets on holiday with them. Our Petmobiles are to exactly the same high standards as the rest of our fleet. There is a supplementary charge of £30 per hire. If any damage is incurred we must charge it to the hirer in full.
Q: Are you able to collect us from the railway station or airport?
A: Yes, we are. The nearest railway station is Chester which is close to our base. Collection from Manchester or Liverpool John Lennon airports is free of charge.
Q: Is bedding supplied with the motorhome ?
A: No. Most people prefer to supply their own. However we do offer a hire service for bedding and towels. See extras in our price list for details.
Q: Do you supply kitchen and dining utensils?

Q: What time can I collect the motorhome and what time do I have to return it?

A: Our weekly hire arrangements are from Friday to Friday or Saturday to Saturday, subject to availability. Collection times are from 3pm to 6pm and return times between 8.30am and 10am.
4 night short breaks are from Monday to Friday with collection on Monday between
2pm and 5pm. Return is on Friday from 9am to 10am.
3 night short breaks are from Friday to Monday with collection on Friday between
2pm and 5pm. Return is on Monday from 9am to 10am.

Q: Can we have more than one driver?
A: The price covers one named driver. Additional drivers may be added at an extra cost of £25 per driver per week. All drivers must meet the requirements as listed in our Terms and Conditions.
Q: How old are your motorhomes?
A: All our vehicles are less than 30 months old.
Q: What is the £500 Damage Deposit for?
A: The Damage Deposit is the sum you deposit with us over and above the hire charge. This acts as insurance excess during your hire. This is fully returnable to you within 7 days provided the vehicle is returned clean and undamaged, and with toilet cleaned and empty.
Q: What fuel does the motorhome use?
A: All our motorhomes run on diesel fuel. A full tank will be provided on collection and you must return the vehicle with a full tank. Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank will result in a refuelling charge of the current forecourt price plus 25% plus VAT.
Q: Can my vehicle be left at your premises?
A: You can leave your vehicle with us for the duration of the hire. This is entirely at the owner's risk and we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage. Your vehicle will be stored in our secure indoor premises. Please be aware that we need to retain the keys for any vehicle left with us in case of emergency.
