What to take
You'll be surprised how little you need to take when you hire one of our luxury motorhomes. They are supplied with so much equipment it is really just a matter of you bringing your own personal items.
Obviously you need to pack your clothing to suit the season and bring all your personal toiletries, bedding and towels. (Having said that you can hire bedding and towels from us if you wish).
See the 'Key Features' which are provided with every one of our motorhomes in the list on the right of this page.
Now take a look at our Comprehensive Equipment List and you'll see that your motorhome probably contains more than you'll ever need for your holiday. But if there's anything you wish to add, please bring it along.
Where to stay
You should always plan to have your overnight stops on a camp site or caravan park. There can be (especially in Europe) restrictions on roadside parking so it is always sensible to pre-book a stay on a site. You will find that sites give you many advantages with facilities which can include pitches with hard-standing, mains power, waste facilities, etc.
All our motorhomes come with free privilege membership of the Camping and Caravan Club for the period of hire. This means you have access to full details of all their member sites throughout the UK, both on their website and in the handbook that we supply with each motorhome. Simply choose your site and phone the club to book.
TIP : ALWAYS BOOK INTO A SITE IN ADVANCE, ESPECIALLY DURING BUSIER PERIODS.
This particularly makes sense during school holidays, bank holidays and peak summer weeks. So think ahead, choose the area you'd like to visit and book in advance by phoning the club. It's easy and helps your holiday run smoothly. If you need any advice on advance booking speak to us – we are here to help!
European travel
There's nothing more exciting than travelling freely around Europe and experiencing the many different sights, sounds, tastes and cultures that it has to offer. It can prove to be the holiday experience of a lifetime.
There are certain regulations that vehicles and drivers are required to meet in Europe. It is your responsibility to check that you are fully conversant with driving laws that can vary from country to country. We have available at a modest cost a comprehensive EU Travel Pack which includes:
- Comprehensive insurance
- European breakdown recovery
- Headlight deflectors
- Spare light bulbs and fuses
- European maps
- Warning triangle
- High visibility jacket
- First aid kit
If you plan to go in the skiing season snow chains are compulsory in most resorts so we offer them for hire, along with a lockable ski rack if you need it (see Prices).
Motorhome holidays are extremely popular in many European countries so you will find that there are plenty of sites and special locations dedicated to overnight halts for motorcaravans. Also many towns and resorts have dedicated motorhome parking areas for day time visitors and they are usually well signposted.
Documents
Whatever you do these days there's always paperwork needed but it's not too complicated. Just be sure to bring:
FOR THE UK AND EUROPE
- A full, original driving licence for each driver (not a copy) including the paper counterpart
- An EHIC European medical healthcare card is recommended. Please make sure it is up to date as they need to be renewed every 10 years. Non-Europeans should be aware that this card is not available to them.
